Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Welcome to Kingsights. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kingsights website and chess-analysis tools (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Kingsights, you confirm that you can form a binding agreement with us and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you agree to these Terms on its behalf.
2. Description of the Service
Kingsights is a free tool that fetches publicly available chess games for a username you provide, analyses them, and generates a report of opening-specific patterns and strategic habits. The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not host or operate any chess platform ourselves.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Enter usernames or data you have no right to analyse, or use the Service to harass, stalk, or profile another person.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its underlying systems.
- Use automated means to access the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure or the third-party services we rely on.
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service's output as your own commercial product.
4. Third-Party Data and Services
Kingsights retrieves game data from third-party chess platforms (such as Chess.com) through their public interfaces. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these platforms. Your use of that data remains subject to the terms and policies of the platform it originates from.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
5. No Warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Chess analysis is inherently probabilistic: the insights, patterns, and recommendations we generate are automated estimates and may be incomplete or incorrect. You should not rely on them as professional coaching or as a guarantee of results.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
6. Intellectual Property
The Kingsights name, design, original text, and software are owned by Kingsights and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Chess games, openings, and moves are facts and are not claimed as our property. You may share your own generated report, but you may not copy or repurpose the Service's code or design without permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kingsights and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to use it, which is zero.
8. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operators of Kingsights are established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer-protection rights that apply to you and cannot be waived by agreement.
10. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at support@kingsights.net.
